Cherith King is a junior at The King’s Academy and has been attending Kings since fifth grade. Cherith is involved in National Honor Society, Math, Science, English, and Spanish National Honor Society. She is also involved in Key club, Art Club, Journalism Club, and Computer Programming Club. Cherith’s favorite subject is English. She enjoys photography, art, and reading. Cherith’s goals after TKA are to go to college in New York City, and pursue her dream of becoming a New York Times bestselling author, and possibly direct a movie. Cherith listens to 80s music, indie music, and pop music. One of her favorite quotes is one she came up with herself, “Don’t stop living your life because others don’t know how to live theirs.” Three things she likes are staying inside on rainy days, staying inside, period, and anything with checkers on it… she really likes checkers. Three random things she dislikes are people who kick or bounce their feet on her chair, people who pronounce their s’s too harshly, and talking about herself in the third person. The latter makes her uncomfortable. One of Cherith’s best character qualities is that she is not afraid to talk about the issues that aren’t discussed enough. She can bring up new and controversial ideas, while portraying them in a way that can change the way people approach a certain topic, and also give a voice to the people who haven’t had the chance to express themselves. Cherith is thrilled to be given the opportunity to write for the Lion Ledger, and hopes that you enjoy her work!
