Brady, arguably one of the best NFL quarterbacks of all time has recently announced that he is leaving the New England Patriots and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This came as a great shock to everyone, especially New Eng

land fans. Brady has spent his whole twenty-year career playing for the Patriots and it is shocking he has decided to leave it now.  Brady is a six-time Super Bowl champion and three-time MVP winner. He has been very successful and has accomplished much while playing for the Patriots. He announced he was leaving New England on March 17, 2020 through his social media. He expressed how much he will miss his former team and his appreciation for all of the fans. The Bucs and the Chargers were the two most likely destinations for him, but he ultimately chose the Bucs. The Bucs have some great weapons they can give Brady for the upcoming season like receivers Mike Evans and Chris Goodwin. The team also has a great coaching staff, with head coach Bruce Arians, that could possibly make the team great. Arians is also very excited to have the star quarterback on his team saying “I have had the privilege to work with some of the best passers in our game, and the characteristics they all possessed were the ability to lead and get the best out of their teammates. Tom is no different. He is a proven winner who will provide the leadership, accountability and work ethic necessary to lead us to our goal of winning another championship.” Brady explained that his decision to leave the team is because he wants to challenge himself once again. Brady wrote this about his move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in an essay on The Players’ Tribune: “Right now, though, I have things to prove to myself. The only way is through. If I don’t go for it, I’ll never know what I could have accomplished. Wanting to do something is different from actually doing it. If I stood at the bottom of a mountain and told myself I could scale the highest peak, but then didn’t do anything about it, what’s the point of that?” However, there were more factors that

led to this big decision. The Patriots were more willing to let him leave than to meet his contract demands. His deal with Tampa Bay is worth about $30 million. This factor alone is enough motivation to make a star player leave a team. Brady’s deal with the Bucs is said to be worth approximately $30 million. We will have to wait until next season to find out whether the move was worth it or not. Could a Super Bowl be in the Buccaneer’s future? Or was it a mistake to leave such a successful team?
