Today I had the privilege of interviewing one of TKA’s very own staff members, Ms. Espina! This is Mrs. Espina’s second year teaching at TKA and she enjoys the joyful environment. She previously taught at Atlantic Christian Academy, another private Christian school, where she gained most of her experience. Ms. Espina teaches all levels of twelfth-grade English from regular to AP meaning she has a hefty caseload. However, despite this caseload, she shares that the meaningful relationships that she creates with her students make the hard work worth it. She explains that she likes teaching this grade level as they can foster more mature relationships. Even though she has only been at TKA for 2 years, she has already been able to foster relationships with many students. She shared that she has recently gone out to lunch with some of last year’s students to catch up on what they are doing in college. Since it is only her second year at King’s, I asked her what her favorite thing about our school is this far, and she happily replied that the fact that students have such a wide range of opportunities and so many different options in the arts fills her heart with joy. She describes herself as understanding and she also shared how valuable family is to her. Thank you to Ms. Espina for being so kind as to answer these questions!
