Operation Christmas Child

Now more than ever, children need great joy! You can give boys and girls in need a tangible expression of God’s love through a gift-filled shoebox. “After they pack and ship shoeboxes like yours overseas, local believers share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children as they distribute them. As a result, families are reached, new churches are started, and communities are transformed!” Every year during the holidays at The Kings Academy elementary students are given the opportunity to put together a gift for children in need. These wonderful gifts are filled with toys, puzzles, dolls, action figures and so much more. This event is called the Christmas Shoe Box Drive.

The amazing organization that provides kids with these wonderful gifts is called the Samaritan’s Purse Organization. On their website at Samaritanspurse.org, it is conveniently made so that you can easily create your shoebox for a child. The more boxes you create the more children you are giving a Christmas gift to! The Samaritan’s Purse Organizations mission is to provide kids with a little something during the holidays, but most importantly to spread the word of God to new people. “Operation Christmas Child provides God’s love in a fun way to children in need around the world, and together with the churches worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ.” The Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. Since 1993, more than 178 million children in more than 150 countries have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. This project gives children all around the world joy and provides them with a tangible expression of God’s love.

The King’s Academy Elementary students have so much fun when putting these shoeboxes together with their families and friends. Knowing that they are making a child smile many miles away, the students feel like they made a difference, and they did, they cheered up a child in need from just a little shoebox filled with gifts.
