Throughout the season, there have been many goals, passes, and penalty kicks, but they have all led up to this final moment—state champions. Since October, these amazing girls have persevered through the challenges and difficulties. They surpassed each and every obstacle thrown at them through injuries and difficult games. These girls banded together and collectively decided that this would be their year. That this would be the year they finally set school history and win a state championship for girls’ soccer. From Adeline Roach’s saving kicks to Sophia Cueto’s final game-winning penalty kick. These extraordinary girls beat all the odds and closed with a great season. Through the evident tears on players and coaches While the season is over, these girls will forever cherish the memories made and close friendships formed. On the field, they may be players, but off the field, they are a family.

Ryleigh Stutsman is a senior at The King’s Academy and has been attending TKA for 11 years. Ryleigh is Editor-in-Chief of the Journalism Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, Math National Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National History Honor Society, National Law Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Quill & Scroll Honor Society, and previously on the Science Olympiad Team. She is most passionate about writing topics concerning sports and ways the school can help the community. Ryleigh loves photography and writing while also exploring the diversity of students on campus. Her favorite class is math. During Ryleigh’s free time, she loves to do archery, fish, read, and spend time with her friends at the beach. A fun fact about her is that she loves hunting, especially in Ohio’s colder weather.
